FIELD NOTES FROM A SMALL AI WORKSHOP
Now taking clients for summer

TreeHouse
Let's Grow Together
AI
that actually works.

We build the unglamorous automations that give small-business owners their Tuesdays back: quotes, follow-ups, scheduling, and research. All built with Claude and a small toolkit of things that actually work in production.

// today in ai refreshing…
§ 01 — offerings
three sizes, one shape

Small, focused engagements. Real systems, shipped fast.

01 / five-day
AUDIT

The audit sprint

One week. We shadow your ops end-to-end and hand you a single-page map of where AI actually moves the needle. Ranked, estimated, and honest about what's not worth it.

02 / fixed-scope
BUILD

Build & deploy

Fixed-scope projects: sub-agents, internal tools, and workflow automations built on Claude. Handed off with docs, tests, and a price that won't move.

03 / monthly
OPS

Fractional ops

We keep what we shipped running, tune it as your business changes, and add the next thing when it's ready. Think fractional AI partner, not agency retainer.

§ 02 — method
three steps, plainly

Start with a conversation. Ship something in a week.

i
— step one —

Listen

A 30-minute call. We listen for the workflow you'd happily pay a person to take off your plate. The quote you keep forgetting to send, the follow-up that should've gone yesterday.

ii
— step two —

Map

We map your operation end-to-end and rank every place AI can actually help. You get a one-page plan with honest estimates, and a shortlist of what not to bother with.

iii
— step three —

Ship

We build the first automation in under a week. You use it. We measure what it saves. Then, and only then, we decide together what ships next, or whether to stop.

§ 03 — clients
small businesses we know how to help

Built for the operations most software ignores.

— 01 —

The trades

  • Plumbing & HVAC
  • Electrical
  • Landscaping & lawn
  • Roofing & construction
— 02 —

Pro services

  • Law firms
  • Accounting & tax
  • Real estate & property mgmt
  • Insurance
— 03 —

Healthcare

  • Dental practices
  • Medical & specialty clinics
  • Veterinary
  • Wellness & therapy
— 04 —

Retail & food

  • Restaurants & food service
  • Convenience & fuel
  • Auto repair & fleet
  • Independent retail
§ 04 — about me
the human running this shop

Built by someone who's actually run the operations.

Illustrated portrait of Paul Thomas, founder of Tree House Consulting
Paul Thomas
Founder · Tampa, FL

I spent the better part of a decade as a Salesforce Consultant and Solutions Engineer backed by eight Salesforce certifications. Throughout these years, I developed a deep understanding of complex software ecosystems and how to architect solutions that drive business efficiency. My career took a transformative and rewarding shift when I stepped into a leadership role within my family's retail and fuel business. Managing a convenience store from the ground up and driving major operational overhauls fundamentally changed how I view small business operations. That experience changed the way I think about software, and it's exactly why Tree House exists.

§ 05 — questions
things owners ask before they say yes

Answered plainly, the way I'd want them answered.

01 How much does this cost?
We don't list prices on the public site, on purpose. Every engagement is fixed-scope and tied to your specific operation, so a generic number would mislead you. The audit sprint sits in the four-figure range. Builds vary with complexity. We'll give you a real number on the discovery call, and if AI isn't the right fit for what you described, we'll tell you that before you write a check.
02 I'm not technical. Will I actually be able to use what you build?
That's the whole point. Most of what we ship runs inside tools you already use: your inbox, your CRM, your phone, a Slack channel. If our automation needs a 40-page manual to operate on a Tuesday afternoon, we built it wrong. Onboarding is part of every engagement, not an upsell.
03 What about my data? Does Claude train on it?
No. Every system we build runs on inference-only API calls. Your customer records, vendor data, and internal documents are never used to train a model. Every AI action is logged so you can audit what happened and when. We'll sign whatever paperwork your industry needs (HIPAA BAAs, vendor security questionnaires, the rest of it).
04 How long until something is actually live?
Five days from kickoff to your first shipped automation, on average. Larger builds run two to six weeks. We don't believe in six-month discovery phases. If we can't ship something useful inside a month, we probably shouldn't have started.
05 What if it doesn't work?
We measure before we move on. Every automation we ship has a baseline metric: minutes saved, leads captured, dollars recovered, errors caught. If it's not earning out the way we projected, we tell you, fix it, or stop. You don't pay for things that don't work, and you don't end up with shelfware nobody uses.
// a short manifesto

We are not an agency. I am someone who actually runs small businesses and got tired of watching owners drown in the same twelve tasks every week. We build agentic workflows, implement AI, and build reliable automations, the ones that give you your Tuesday afternoons back. Let's grow together.

Let's grow
something small
together.
